Lanta Gras Co. provides scholarships for students to participate in free music lessons and build community through music.

Applications are accepted all year with scholarships awarded in February and May depending on funding of the program.

What to Know

Eligibility and Priority: Student eligibility is extended to children who attend public school in the Jackson Cluster and/or reside in the NPU-O neighborhoods of Kirkwood, East Lake and Edgewood — as well as parents/guardians who are employed within this NPU-O zone in the following professions: schools (pre-K through 12), first responders (Police, Fire and Rescue) and military service.

Our candidate age group is 4th-12th grades, but younger candidates may be considered.

We offer free music lessons and instruments for an entire school year (up to 30 lessons).

Instructors provide lessons at a local business venue. Applying for this scholarship is a commitment to attend weekly lessons and an agreement to march with us in our annual "Lanta Gras" parade, which is held in Kirkwood on the last Saturday in January.

Happy Lanta Gras!

More than Lessons

We have provided over 1500 private music lessons to kids ages 9-15 who attend Atlanta Public School's Jackson Cluster.

The music program also helps provide instruments to kids in lessons and schools.
